Old Town Cottages in Homer Alaska

DESCRIPTION:
A community of 8 small homes tucked in a green space in the vibrant residential and commercial area of Old Town, Homer. Construction is on-going and due to be completed in the fall of 2009. Homes are clustered around a central garden area, which includes a fire-circle, benches and raised planters. Old Town Cottages have easy walking access to Bishop's beach, cafes, restaurants, banks, groceries and galleries. A balance of privacy and community is created by perennial hedges, trees, common pathways and private porches. Details reminiscent of Arts and Crafts bungalows fill these homes, exemplifying the economy and grace of living efficiently and comfortably within a small footprint. Alcoves, bays, built-in shelves and pockets of space make a small area seem larger while accommodating more activities. Materials used in construction have inherent beauty. These cottages surround the residents with comfort, practicality and neighborly security.


OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE:

Each cottage is individually owned with common-interest ownership pertaining to common properties outside the immediate vicinity of each cottage. Common-interest properties include driveway and parking, central garden area, storage, dumpster and green space. These common properties are jointly owned by the Old Town Cottage Homeowners Association. All expenses associated with the care and maintenance of these properties are determined by the Homeowners Association and shared equally by all eight residences. Charges will be determined and levied by the membership of the Homeowners Association.
